#ScuderiaCremona

Scuderia Cremona was originally founded in 1931 in the Lombard city of Cremona, in an environment animated by the memory of Tazio Nuvolari’s exploits and by the enthusiasm of local aristocrats and young talents. Its most prominent figure was Count Giovanni Lurani, joined by Luigi Villoresi, Franco Cortese and Eugenio Siena, who together created a team capable of challenging the official factory squads in the great Italian road races. With Alfa Romeo and Maserati cars the scuderia appeared at the Mille Miglia, the Targa Florio and other international competitions, achieving significant results such as Villoresi’s victory at the Coppa Principessa di Piemonte in 1932. Though short-lived, ending around 1934, it became a cradle for future champions and a symbol of the vitality of provincial Italian motorsport in the prewar period. After the Second World War, the name Scuderia Cremona reappeared, though with far less prominence and with scarce documentation preserved. Active at least in the mid-1950s, it was based in Cremona at Via Aselli 11 and held an international license number 0176. Under its banner Piero Bozzini entered the Mille Miglia of 1956 driving the artisanal Pasqualin sports car, an episode that highlights the role of small local teams in keeping alive the tradition of independent participation.
