#ScuderiaClementeBiondetti

The Scuderia Clemente Biondetti was an Italian motor racing team founded in Florence in 1956 by a group of drivers from the Scuderia Pier Capponi, in memory of Clemente Biondetti, the four-time Mille Miglia winner who had died the previous year. Initially active in regularity trials, rallies and hillclimbs, the team progressively expanded its involvement in circuit racing, becoming an important presence in Tuscan motorsport. During the 1960s, under the presidency of Marquis Piero Frescobaldi and later Giorgio Billi, its drivers included Romano “Shangri-Là” Martini, Ilfo Minzoni, Carlo and Roberto Benelli, Spartaco Dini, Carlo Zuccoli and others, competing with Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA and TZ models, Ferrari, Porsche, Abarth and various racing cars. In 1972, following the integration of activities associated with the Scuderia Piloti Toscani Bardahl, the organisation adopted the name Firenze Corse–Biondetti, continuing to participate in and organise rallies, hillclimbs, circuit races and regularity events. Its activities ceased in 1976, but the Scuderia Clemente Biondetti was revived in 1988 with a particular emphasis on historic motoring. Since then, it has been involved in the organisation and revival of traditional Tuscan events, including the Coppa della Consuma, the Circuito Stradale del Mugello and the Firenze–Fiesole hillclimb, as well as promoting historical research and publications devoted to Italian motorsport.
