#RayJones

Ray Jones was a fast and capable American privateer driver active in the mid-1950s Southern racing scene. Closely associated with A.D. Logan’s stable, he drove powerful European sports cars—including Ferrari and Maserati—with notable success at events across Texas, Louisiana and the Gulf Coast. Jones earned particular recognition at the Gran Carrera Lafitte on Galveston Island, where his speed and consistency made him one of the standout regional competitors. Known for clean driving, mechanical sympathy and strong results in both preliminaries and feature races, he was a key figure in the vibrant network of privateers who shaped sports-car racing in the American South during its formative post-war years.
