#Rally999Minuti
The Rally 999 Minuti was created in 1966, when the “Tre Gazzelle” racing team from Novara, in collaboration with the Automobile Club Novara, began organizing motorsport events. Among their initiatives was the “999 Minuti” Rally, conceived as an Italian counterpart to Finland’s Rally of the Thousand Lakes. The inaugural edition took place on April 15–16, 1967, covering an 812 km route through demanding roads of the Piedmont region, including the Cannobina and Vigezzo valleys. Lancia’s official team took part, with Sandro Munari claiming victory in the first edition together with co-driver Lombardini. Lancia continued to dominate the following years, with wins by Munari, Harry Källström, Sergio Barbasio, and Amilcare Ballestrieri. After six editions, the rally was shortened and rebranded as the “333 Minuti” and later the “111 Minuti.” Today, the event has returned as a historic rally, reviving the atmosphere of the 1960s and 1970s. The new Team Erredue, together with the Automobile Club Novara, is relaunching the “999 Minuti” Revival on November 8–9, preceded by the official presentation on September 28. Enthusiasm is already high, with strong engagement on social media and the event’s website.
We'll tell the story of this event on the occasion of its anniversary.
