#Rally4Regioni

Born in 1971 from a group of ACI Pavia enthusiasts, led by Benedetto Pelliccioni and Siropietro Quaroni, the Rally 4 Regioni soon became a landmark event on both the Italian and international rally scene. In 1976 it was even listed as a reserve round for the World Rally Championship. Quaroni, a sporting, forward-looking and charismatic figure, introduced pioneering innovations to rallying through this event, such as the “ronde” format launched in 1976. In its early years the rally started from Pavia, before moving its headquarters to the park of Rivanazzano–Salice Terme. True to its name, the Rally 4 Regioni ran across the roads of Lombardy, Piedmont, Liguria and Emilia-Romagna, covering routes of no less than 1,000 km (with the sole exception of the 1986 edition), and reaching 1,656 km in its inaugural year of 1971.
