#PieroCarini

Pietro "Piero" Carini (Genoa, March 6, 1921 – Saint-Étienne, May 30, 1957) was an Italian racing driver. He competed in motorsport events before making his Formula One debut in 1952, driving a Ferrari 166 F2 for Scuderia Marzotto. However, he did not finish any of the Grand Prix races he entered. His last Formula One race occurred in 1953 with a Ferrari 553 F1 from the official Ferrari team. Following his brief F1 career, Carini returned to focus on road racing. He tragically lost his life in May 1957 during the 6 Hours of Forez. While driving a Ferrari Testa Rossa, his car veered across the central barrier and collided with the vehicle of Portuguese driver António de Borges Barreto. Both drivers were killed in the crash.

We'll publish a biography on him on the occasion of his anniversary or when it will be reached a sufficient number of cars.
