#NicolaiDeGorhez
Nicolai de Gorhez was a Belgian journalist and racing driver active in the 1950s. He is best remembered for his collaboration with Porsche during the National Belgian Record Runs at Jabbeke in October 1955. Partnering with Richard von Frankenberg, he co-drove a Porsche 550 Spyder in officially timed speed trials on the closed motorway, setting new records over the flying kilometer and mile in the under-1.5-liter class. Though not a full-time professional racer, de Gorhez’s involvement exemplified the close ties between motoring journalism and competition in the postwar era, when record attempts were both technical tests and powerful publicity tools.
We'll publish a biography on him on the occasion of his anniversary or when it will be reached a sufficient number of cars.
