#NewSmyrnaBeachSportsCarRaces
The New Smyrna Beach Sports Car Races were SCCA regional events held in Florida during the mid-1950s, staged on temporary circuits laid out along the roads and airfield sections near the coastal town of New Smyrna Beach. Part of the early expansion of sports-car racing in the Southeast, the meeting attracted a strong mix of Florida-based privateers, traveling Southern drivers and powerful European machinery. Known for its fast, open layout and for the enthusiastic local support that turned the races into a community happening, New Smyrna Beach became a recognizable stop in the emerging Florida motorsport scene, complementing more established venues such as Sebring and Daytona.
We'll tell the story of this event on the occasion of its anniversary or when it will reach a sufficient number of cars.
