#Moretti1200

The Moretti 1200 exemplifies 1950s Italian automotive craftsmanship, blending elegant design, advanced engineering, and limited production. Moretti, driven more by prestige than commercial viability, expanded his twin-cam engine from 750 cc to 1.2 liters. Unlike its predecessor, it debuted in a grand touring sedan, showcased at the 1953 Concorso d’Eleganza in Stresa. Designed for reliability, the 1200 engine produced 52 hp at 5,500 rpm. The newly developed chassis featured a longer wheelbase, independent front suspension, a rigid rear axle, and aluminum drum brakes. The body lines were a work of Giovanni Michelotti.
