#MontgomeryAirportSportsCarRaces
The Montgomery Airport Sports Car Races were a regional SCCA event held at Montgomery Municipal Airport in Alabama during the mid-1950s. Using the runways and service roads of the airfield, the meeting reflected the American post-war trend of adapting military or civilian airports into temporary road courses. Though not part of the major national championships, the races attracted competitive privateers from the Southeast and became a valued stop in the Southern regional calendar, known for fast sections, simple facilities and a distinctly grassroots racing atmosphere.
We'll tell the story of this event on the occasion of its anniversary or when it will reach a sufficient number of cars.
