Louis Klemantaski (Manchuria, February 12, 1912 - UK, June 26, 2001) was a British photographer. Heir to Jacques Henry Lartigue, pioneer of the photography of moving objects, Klemantaski was said to have invented the art of motor racing photography. His work spans between 1936 and 1974. In the 1950s, he was co-driver at the Mille Miglia, achieving exhilarating shots. Author of at least a dozen books and appearing in hundreds of other publications and exhibitions, in 1989, he sold his entire library to Peter Sachs, who established the Klemantaski collection, combining Louis' work with a dozen other car photographers in an archive which lists in excess of 50,000 motor sport images.
