#LorettaRichert

Loretta “Tetta” Turnbull Richert was an American racing driver active in the 1950s, remembered as one of the few women to compete in sports car events of the era. Closely associated with John Edgar Enterprises, she drove the Porsche 550 Spyder in local and regional races, including the 1957 Hawaiian International Sports Car Races, where she took part in the Islander’s Race. Richert stood out not only for her speed but also for breaking gender barriers in a male-dominated sport, representing the growing presence of women in American motorsport during the postwar years.
