#LondonGrandPrixCrystalPalace
The London Grand Prix was a pre‑war motor race held at the Crystal Palace circuit in south‑east London from 1937 to 1939. Organized on a two‑mile (≈ 3.2 km) urban course through the park, the event featured voiturette and sports cars. The inaugural race in July 1937 was won by Prince Bira in an ERA, and he repeated the victory in 1938. The 1939 edition was scheduled but never held due to the outbreak of war. The event generated intense head‑to‑head racing and high spectator interest, and was significant for bringing Continental-style grand prix competition to London’s doorstep.
