#JayWilling
Jay Willing was a British privateer sports car driver active in the late 1930s, known for driving a Delahaye 135 CS in endurance events. He notably finished fifth overall in his first major outing at the 1938 Antwerp Grand Prix, covering 81 laps and bested only by top Delahayes and Talbots—a strong result for a privateer entry. He also competed in the LCC 3‑Hour Sports Car Race at Brooklands (16 July 1938), sharing a Delahaye with Ronny Jarvis. His participation illustrates the international reach of British private drivers and the prominence of Delahaye sports cars in cross‑channel competition. Willing’s name appears in period entries and race photographs capturing the vibrant endurance scene of pre‑war Britain.
We'll publish a biography on him on the occasion of his anniversary or when it will be reached a sufficient number of cars.
