#GiuseppeLuraghi
Giuseppe Luraghi (12 June 1905 – 11 December 1991) was an Italian industrial manager, writer and poet, best known for his long association with Alfa Romeo. A graduate in economics from Bocconi University, he worked for Pirelli from 1930 to 1950 before joining the IRI group. In 1951 he became general manager of Finmeccanica, while also holding senior positions in several companies, including Alfa Romeo. After serving as president of Lanerossi from 1956 to 1960, he returned to Alfa Romeo as president, a position he held from 1960 to 1974. During his tenure the company expanded considerably, with the development and launch of models including the Giulia and the construction of the new Arese plant. Luraghi was also closely involved with the Alfasud project and with Alfa Romeo’s broader industrial expansion. Alongside his business career, he maintained an active literary and cultural life as a poet, novelist and essayist. He later served as president of Mondadori from 1977 to 1983.
We'll publish a biography on him on the occasion of his anniversary or when it will be reached a sufficient number of cars.
