The Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2 are the first models in the Icona series, a limited-edition line inspired by Ferrari’s 1950s racing barchettas such as the 166 MM and 750 Monza. Unveiled in 2018, the SP1 is a single-seater while the SP2 offers two seats, both featuring a radical open-top design with no windshield and a patented Virtual Wind Shield to manage airflow. Designed by the Ferrari Styling Centre under Flavio Manzoni, the cars are built entirely in carbon fiber and powered by a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 delivering 810 hp and 719 Nm, derived from the 812 Superfast. Performance figures include 0–100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and a top speed exceeding 300 km/h. Only 499 units were produced and offered exclusively to selected Ferrari clients, each extensively customized. The Monza SP1 and SP2 received the prestigious Compasso d’Oro award in 2020 for their innovative and evocative design.
We'll tell the story of these models on the occasion of their anniversary or when they will reach a sufficient number of cars.
