Enrico Cardile, born on April 5, 1975, in Arezzo, Italy, is an aerospace engineer who spent nearly two decades at Ferrari, rising through the ranks to become one of the company’s most senior technical figures. After graduating from the University of Pisa in 2002, he began collaborating with Ferrari on aerodynamic innovation projects and officially joined the company in 2005 within the Gran Turismo division. There, he worked on GT racing programs, contributing to the development of the 458 and 488 competition models. In 2016, Cardile transitioned to Scuderia Ferrari in Formula 1 as head of aerodynamic development, later assuming broader responsibilities in vehicle concept and performance. By 2021, he was appointed Technical Director for chassis and aerodynamics, a position he held until his departure in July 2024. Although not publicly credited as a lead figure in the development of the Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2, his leadership within the chassis and aerodynamic departments during the time those models were engineered suggests he likely had a supporting or supervisory role in ensuring performance consistency and integration. In mid-2024, Cardile was announced as the future Chief Technical Officer of Aston Martin, although a non-compete clause will delay his official start until July 2025. Known for his methodical approach and technical expertise, Cardile played a key role in shaping Ferrari’s vehicle architecture both on track and in high-performance road cars.
