#ElkhartLakeRoadRaces
The Elkhart Lake Road Races were first held from 1950 to 1952 on public roads around the village of Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. These SCCA-sanctioned events quickly became some of the most prestigious sports car races in postwar America, drawing leading drivers and European machinery. Safety concerns ended road racing on public streets after 1952, but the name continued to be used informally in connection with the SCCA National races held at nearby Road America from 1955 onward, linking the legendary street races with the new permanent circuit.
We'll tell the story of this event on the occasion of its anniversary or when it will reach a sufficient number of cars.
