#DeniseMcLuggage

Denise McCluggage (1927–2015) was an American racing driver, journalist, and pioneer for women in motorsport. Starting her career as a writer, she quickly proved her talent behind the wheel, competing in sports car races across the U.S. and internationally during the 1950s and 1960s. McCluggage drove a wide variety of cars — from Porsche 550 Spyders to Ferraris and even Formula Junior — and earned class wins at prestigious events such as Sebring and the Nürburgring. Beyond her achievements on track, she became one of the most influential voices in automotive journalism, founding Competition Press (later Autoweek). Admired for both her racing skill and her writing, McCluggage left a lasting legacy as a trailblazer who opened doors for women in the male-dominated world of motorsport.
