Dario Benuzzi (born January 1946) is an Italian test driver and development engineer, best known for his long career at Ferrari. He joined the company’s testing department in the late 1960s and became chief test driver in the following decade. Over nearly five decades of activity, Benuzzi drove and evaluated every Ferrari road car from the Dino onwards, as well as numerous Formula One, sports-prototype, and GT competition cars. His precise feedback and engineering sensitivity were instrumental in defining the handling characteristics and dynamic balance of Ferrari’s production models. Working alongside Mauro Forghieri, Nicola Materazzi and other leading engineers, he played a central role in the development of iconic cars such as the 512 BB, Testarossa, F40, F50, and Enzo Ferrari, embodying the continuity between racing technology and road performance.
