The Daimler Motor Company is a historic British car manufacturer, founded in 1896 by Harry John Lawson. It is the oldest car factory in England and one of the largest suppliers to the British Royal House. The Daimler Company, was part of the BSA industrial group and aquired Hopper & co in 1940. From 1960 it became the property of Jaguar and from 2008 it became part of the Tata Motors group, after the latter's acquisition of the Jaguar brand.
