#CoppaSila

The Coppa Sila, also known as Salita della Sila, is an annual hill climb race held near Cosenza on the Sila mountain range. Established in 1924 by Giuseppe Catalani as a charitable motoring event, it was first run as an official hill climb in 1959. The 9.5 km course rises from Cone Aria to Montescuro, climbing 561 m at an average gradient of 5.8 %, with the finish line at approximately 1 615 m altitude. It was part of the European Hill Climb Championship from 1974 to 1983 and included in the Campionato Italiano Velocità Montagna. The event ran annually until 1983, saw a brief revival in the 1990s as Salita della Sila, and was relaunched in 2014 under its original name. Recent editions celebrate its centenary embracing both competition and regional heritage.
