Brooklands was a 2.75‑mile (4.43 km) banked motor racing circuit and aerodrome built near Weybridge in Surrey, England. It opened on 17 June 1907 as the world’s first purpose‑built motor racing circuit and one of Britain’s earliest airfields. Racing ceased in August 1939, just before World War II, and the track fell into disrepair as the site was taken over for aircraft production. Today, parts of the original circuit—including sections of banking and the finishing straight—form the Brooklands Museum, preserving many of the historic racing and aviation buildings. www.brooklandsmuseum.com
