May 22, 2017
Andrea Vesco and Andrea Guerini with 71,272 points, driving an Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS Zagato of 1931 (n. 74), are the winners of the Mille Miglia 2017. After 1800 km of road, Vesco and Guerini are imposed in this revival of the Freccia Rossa, ahead in the ranking Luca Patron and Elena Scaramuzzi, came in second place, on an OM 665 Superba Sports 2000 cc of 1926 (n. 5), with 70,102 points, and Giordano Mozzi and Stefania Biacca who won the third place on board an Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 Gran Sport of 1933 sn: 10814406 (Zagato) (n.94), with 69,268 points. This car was already counted among the AUTOMOTIVE MASTERPIECES, raced the Mille Miglia in 1934 and 1936 and it is one of the just 18 "Testa Fissa”.
Still covered with the mud of the race, but with the look of the winner, the Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 Gran Sport Testa Fissa (Zagato), comes back to the Mille Miglia Museum.
So the exhibition 90 Anni Mille Miglia organized by AUTOMOTIVE MASTERPIECES enriches itself with even more charm with the exposition of an historical car that brings the marks of the race on its “skin”.
Among the many reasons that make the Mille Miglia incomparably refined, exclusive and prestigious is that it is the only way possible to admire, all at the same time, priceless treasures that have written the most beautiful pages of international motoring. Among the Museums that will send their cars to Brescia, there are Alfa Romeo, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Porsche.
Among the vehicles belonging to private individuals or museums, ninety-two cars will be returning to Brescia after having taken part in at least one edition of the Mille Miglia, between 1927 and 1957. The selection, carried out by a panel of international experts and scrutineers, was performed on 705 applications from 41 countries.
Among those chosen, the most represented brand is Alfa Romeo with 46 cars (chosen from 72 entries), followed by Fiat with 36 (out of 61 entries) and two other houses with 35: Lancia (54) and Mercedes-Benz (49). Following on, there are Bugatti with 23 (all entries) and Jaguar with 21 (47), the same as Porsche (35); the Ferraris lined up at the start will be 15 (out of 17 entries), 14 Aston Martins (34), 13 O.M.s (Of course, all cars of this brand, built in Brescia, have been accepted), 12 BMWs and 11 Maseratis. The starting line-up is completed by other brands, for a total of 82 Manufacturers.
