#CatalogueSportsCarRace

The "Catalogue Sports Car Race" was a three-hour event organized by the Light Car Club at Brooklands on 16 July 1938, using the Campbell circuit layout. Meant to replace the discontinued Relay Race, it required cars to run in fully standard configuration (road-going specification), making for a down-to-earth competition among typical sports cars of the period. The race attracted a field of fifteen entrants, and the winner was a Delahaye—reportedly the ex‑Bira chassis—which averaged 63.46 mph over the distance. Only one retirement was recorded, underlining the mechanical reliability of the participants. The event became notable for its emphasis on everyday sports cars and was viewed as a genuine test of production machinery under endurance conditions.

We'll tell the story of this event on the occasion of its anniversary or when it will be reached a sufficient number of cars.
